Dr. Victoria (Vikki) Costa is Professor of Secondary Education at Cal State Fullerton.  With over 35 years of experience at the secondary, community college, and university levels, Vikki's scholarly and creative activities focus on faculty and teacher professional development; instructional design for online, blended, and traditional learning environments; and the use of technology to improve teaching and learning.   

Vikki currently serves as Director of the Cal State Fullerton Teacher Induction Program and teaches courses in educational technology. 

Vikki also currently serves as Senior Research Associate for the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center Office of Education, where she consults on education program evaluation and implementation.  Currently, she provides program evaluation support for the Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP) Minority Institution Research Opportunity (MIRO). Her areas of speciality include developing and sustaining partnerships, building institutional STEM research capacity, and strengthening program evaluation efforts.  In addition, she was the editor for the revised NASA’s BEST Educator Guide (revision in press, 2019), which focuses on the engineering design process.

With extensive expertise in state and national STEM education reform efforts, Vikki has served as Principal Investigator for over $3M in federal and state grants and contracts.  She has consulted for the Aerospace Education, Research, and Operations (AERO) Institute, American Institute for Research (AIR), American Association for Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE), California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, California State University System, Ed Tech Leaders Online (ETLO),  and Intel Education. 

She has also traveled throughout the United States and visited China, Egypt, Japan, Portugal, South Korea and Vietnam to deliver keynote addresses, presentations, and professional development workshops in educational technologies to international university faculty and K-12 classroom teachers.

Vikki has published in the International Journal of University Teaching and Faculty Development, Journal of Curriculum Studies, Journal of College Science Teaching, Science Education, International Journal of Science Education, Issues in Teacher Education, Teacher Education Quarterly, and Journal of Research in Science Teaching, and is co-author of Secrets to Success for Science Teachers.
